Tran Van Can (1919 – 1994), born in Bac Ninh province. He was a Vietnamese painter. He became the director of the Vietnam college of Fine Arts (1955-1964), was the general secretary of the Vietnamese Fine Arts Association between 1958 to 1983, and in 1983 became the President of the Vietnamese association of Plastic Arts. Many of his works are in the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts, Hanoi: painting "Little sister Thuy" – a portrait of a young girl seated on a chair; lacquer painting "Winter coming"….
