Full Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – Private Transfer
On arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, we will be welcomed by our private guide and driver. The rest of the day will be free. Overnight in a hotel in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour in Joined Tour (B, L)
After breakfast, our guide will take us on the city tour. Our first stop is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh Museum, his simple house-on-stilt, and the nearby ancient One Pillar Pagoda. We then move to Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Pagoda which are located by the West Lake.
After Vietnamese lunch, we will visit the excellent Ethnology Museum which displays on culture and customs of different 54 groups in Vietnam. We finish the tour in the centre of Hanoi including Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc in Joined Tour (B, L)
Pick up at the hotel at around 8.00 AM by our guide and driver, we will take 2.5 hours drive to Ninh Binh Province to visit Hoa Lu – the ancient capital of Vietnam. On arrival, we will visit the Temple of King Dinh and King Le which are dedicated to the two Kings under Dinh and Le Dynasties from 10th to 11th centuries.
We then back to our bus and transfer to Tam Coc – Three Grottos for lunch in a restaurant overlooking the river. After lunch, we take a pleasant rowing boat along the Ngo Dong River, passing through thousands of limestone in amazing formations, villages, rice fields, and rocky outcrops. In the late afternoon, we will be back in Hanoi and arrive at our hotel at around 6 PM.
Day 4: Hanoi – Halong Bay in Joined tour (B, L, D)
Our shuttle bus picks us up at around 8 AM and we transfer to Halong City. On arrival, we will board our junk and enjoy the welcome drink before checking in to our cabin. Lunch will be served while cruising towards thousands of limestone standing in the emerald water including Stone Dog Islet, a floating fishing village, Incense Burning Islet, Fighting Cocks Islet…
In the mid-afternoon, we visit the Surprising Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in Halong Bay, and have one-hour kayaking through the slide rock cliffs. The rest of the afternoon will be relaxing time on the sea for swimming, diving, jumping from the boat…Dinner on board and join our crew with squid fishing, playing cards, or just relaxing in the sundeck.
Day 5: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Overnight train to Sapa (B, L)
Have breakfast at 7 AM and then check out of the cabin while our junk continues cruising further in the bay passing Frog Islet, Turtle Islet…If you’re interested in cooking, we will join a Cooking demonstration with our chef to learn how to cook some Vietnamese traditional food. Farewell, lunch is served while the junk cruises toward at harbor. Back to the mainland and find our shuttle bus is waiting and taking us back to Hanoi. We will be free until our car arrives to take us to the Railway Station to board the overnight train to Lao Cai.
Day 6: Lao Cai – Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van Villages in Joined Tour (B, L, D)
Arrive at Lao Cai Station in the early morning at 6 AM, we will get on our shuttle bus and transfer to Sapa – a small town perched on the mountainside opposite Mt. Fan Si Pan, Vietnam’s highest peak. On arrival, we will have a quick shower and breakfast at the hotel before trekking to Lao Chai Village – homes to Tay and Day people, stroll in the village, and talk with the friendly local people and children before having a picnic lunch en route. After lunch, we continue our trekking down to the bottom of Sapa Valley to get to Ta Van Village – one of the most beautiful villages in the area where we spend the night in a local homestay. (Approximate: 13 KM – 5 hours trekking).
Day 7: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa Town in Joined Tour (B, L, D)
After breakfast in the homestay, we head to Giang Ta Chai Village of Red Dzao people. Along the way, we will pass by amazing scenery, a colorful ethnic village, and a beautiful waterfall. In the afternoon, we will go up to the main road and find our vehicle to take us back to Sapa with some stops en route for the fabulous valley of Sapa. Check-in our hotel, shower and have dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in a hotel in Sapa town. (Approximate: 11 KM – 4.5 hours trekking).
Day 8: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai – Lao Cai Station in Joined Tour (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will have free time to stroll around the town’s busy market. After lunch, we check out and leave the luggage at the hotel before heading down to Cat Cat and Sin Chai Village of Black H’mong people. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way before getting back to the town, get yourself fresh with a shower in the hotel’s day room before transferring to Lao Cai Station for the night train back to Hanoi. (Approximate: 4 KM – 3 hours trekking).
Day 9: Hanoi Departure – Private Transfer (B)
Arrival in Hanoi in the early morning, we will be welcomed by our private driver and transfer to the hotel for breakfast and refresh. Time will be free until our private car arrives to take us to the airport in good time for the departure flight. Tour ends. Thanks for traveling with My Hanoi Tours!
