Full Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Thay Pagoda – Tay Phuong Pagoda & Villages (L, D)
We are picked up at the hotel at around 8 AM and then travel to the outskirt of Hanoi. The first destination is Thay Pagoda (Master Pagoda) which is located in a complex of limestone mountains, lakes,s and villages around. Continue our journey to Tay Phuong Pagoda to see the wooden architecture of old Viet people, especially the famous Buddha statues in this place. Tay Phuong pagoda is located on the top of a mountain and we will walk up and down more than 200 steps.
Checking in at Hoang Long Resort before having lunch and our afternoon activity is exploring the villages by bike. Softly biking around from this village to another, we can see the Vietnamese farmer's daily life such as farming in the rice fields, and doing handicrafts (wooden furniture, bamboo fans, paper fans…). We can stop everywhere we wish, chatting with local people and buying something with the help of the tour guide... The rest of the day, we can relax at the swimming pool, walk around the resort or drink something at the resort restaurant. Dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant. Overnight in the resort.
Day 2: Moon Garden & Duong Lam Ancient Village (B, L)
After breakfast, we travel to the Moon Garden homestay which is around 20km drive. Welcome upon arrival with local fresh green tea, we relax for a while to explore the charming Moon Garden, then join the cooking class with the host. Our activities after lunch today are: hand massage (having your fingers dipped in a fragrant lime bowl and the traditional herbal hand massage), taking a bike ride to discover the Ky Son, Tam Son, Van Minh, and Cham farming communities, Duong Lam ancient villages, Mia pagoda, Mong Phu communal House… then the bike ride back along the ritual paths of Thang Thac village to visit the King Ngo Quyen tomb and temple. The National Hero in the centuries.
Before traveling back to Hanoi, we have time to foot bath in warm water with ginger, salt, and mugwort medicinal herbs, enjoy the local drink, and taste some of the local products such as maize, sweet potatoes, cassava, peanuts…(seasonal food). Trip ends. Thanks for joining Hanoi tour with My Hanoi Tours!
