According to the information from the Hanoi Tourism Department, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2017 (from 26/1 - 30/1/2017), the total number of tourists to the capital is over 230,000 visitors, an increase of 7.5% compared with the same period last year. In particular, international tourist arrivals are over 62,000 (mostly Korean tourists, China, Japan, France, Malaysia, Spain, ...); domestic tourists 168,000 people. Total revenue from tourists during the Tet holiday reached 731 billion VND.
The sightseeing attractions in the Lunar New Year 2017 is the area of cultural tourism and festivals such as the Temple of Literature; Ngoc Son Temple; Museum of Ethnology; Quan Thanh Temple; Tran Quoc Pagoda; and Hoa Lo Prison.
