It’s 150m long, from Hai Ba Trung to Ly Thuong Kiet street, parallel to Hoa Lo street.
Before becoming a street named as National Resistance Day (19/12/1946), it used to be a market called Hell market. Because in 1946 – 1947, the National Resistance broke out in Hanoi, this street where the mass graves of victims died in line of duty against the French. In 1982, after the victims bones moved, the market was officially named December 19 market but still called with a familiar name: Hell market. Nowadays, it was displaced, this area becomes December 19 street.
