Dai Bai village, originally known as Van Lang village, is situated in Gia Dinh district, Bac Ninh province, 30 km to the north of Hanoi.
The village is proud of its history with more than 1,000 year old bronze casting tradition. From some historical documents, the traditional handicraft in the village was established in 998. In the 15th century, the village was divided into different hamlets, each with their own professional skill including bronze kettles, bronze pots, bronze basins, bronze food tray and one hamlet which was specialized in providing materials and selling products.
Dai Bai bronze products are various with a wide range of objects for worship such as urns, pots and cranes. For many years, the village was renowned for producing devotional items such as statues, urns, vases, and parallel sentences.
