On October 9th 2015, Belgian-Luxembourg Association of Commercial Enterprises in Vietnam, combined with Embassy of Belgium in Vietnam will have “Belgian Beer Festival 2015” at American Club (21 Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi). This event aims to popularize Belgian culture to Vietnamese people, foreigners in Vietnam as well.
In medieval Belgium, it is renowned for beer when the monks made beer from their special herbs and hops. Therefore, beer is simply a beverage, but connected closely with their social life, tradition and culture. In April 2014, Belgian beer received World Heritage Recognition of UNESCO for its variety of more than 2,500 beers from 120 different breweries and the unique flavor.
Belgian beer festival was first taken place in Hanoi in 2014, shaped by the idea of the Belgian Ambassador in Vietnam. With nearly 2.600 participants, it made an outstanding success in Hanoi (October, 2014) and Ho Chi Minh City (April, 2015)
Belgian Beer Fest will return to Hanoi in this October with more than 50 different beers served in different glasses, for a chance of learning Belgian culture, savor various types of beer.
